Josh Reddick’s arm is still ridiculous

The White Sox had to run on him, but no one should.

J. Meric

Here's the scene: The A's were losing 4-2 against the White Sox, but were facing a bases-loaded situation with just one out and Adam Dunn at the plate in the bottom of the fifth inning -- things could get a lot worse in a hurry. Dunn, as he so often does, hit the ball in the air, but right to Athletics outfielder Josh Reddick out in right.

If you were curious, Reddick’s arm can still do flat-out silly things:

One hop, well out in front of the plate to give the catcher time to receive it, and backstop Derek Norris is able to turn and take the hit from fellow catcher Tyler Flowers because of it -- if Reddick hit him on a line, it might look more impressive, but this allowed Norris to brace for impact.

The A’s got out of the inning thanks to this rocket, and ended up winning in extras 5-4, with a little help from a Reddick homer along the way.
