Angels 9, Red Sox 5: The Angels came to life in the seventh inning, tagging four runs on reliever Franklin Morales. Mike Trout went 3-for-5 with two doubles in the first game of a day-night doubleheader.

Red Sox 7, Angels 2 (Game 2): Clay Buchholz only allowed two runs over 6⅔ innings pitched, but had to leave his start with neck stiffness. David Ortiz continued to swing the bat well, cracking his 12th home run of the season in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Twins 4, Nationals 3: Ryan Doumit singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th inning, as the Nationals fell to 29-31 on the season. Kevin Correia flustered Washington hitters all game, striking out seven in 6⅓ innings, best illustrated by this picture of Anthony Rendon.

Pirates 6, Cubs 2: A.J. Burnett held the Cubs scoreless during the first eight innings of the game. Pedro Alvarez and Russell Martin each hit two-run homers of Jeff Samardzija, who fell to 3-7 on the season despite a 3.16 ERA.

Blue Jays 4, Rangers 3 (18): Rajai Davis hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 18th, ending the game 5 hours 28 minutes after it started. Toronto led 3-1 entering the ninth, but A.J. Pierzynski and Elvis Andrus each drove in a run to force extra innings. The game probably felt a bit like this foul ball faux pas committed by a Jays fan.

Marlins 2, Mets 1 (20): The second marathon game of the day (read just how rare it was) took 6:25 to complete. Adeiny Hechavarria drove in Placido Polanco with a one-out single in the 20th against Shaun Marcum, who threw eight innings of relief and 105 pitches for the Mets.

Tigers 6, Indians 4: The Tigers battered Indians starter Carlos Carrasco for six runs on 10 hits in four innings. Rick Porcello struck out at least seven hitters for a third consecutive start.

White Sox 4, Athletics 1: John Danks earned his first victory of the season, allowing one run on three hits in eight innings. Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko both hit home runs for the White Sox.

Yankees 3, Mariners 1: Andy Pettitte earned the 250th victory of his career against the Mariners on the same day the Yankees drafted his son. Mariano Rivera saved a Pettitte victory for the 71st time in their careers.

Rays 8, Orioles 0: Jeremy Hellickson and three Rays relievers held the Orioles to four hits and no runs. Tampa Bay hitters, on the other hand, tagged rookie Kevin Gausman for seven runs on eight hits.

Reds 4, Cardinals 2: Mat Latos improved to 6-0 on the season, allowing two runs on eight hits in seven innings against the Cardinals. Jay Bruce blasted his 10th home run of the season while Joey Votto collected two doubles.

Braves 2, Dodgers 1: Homers by Dan Uggla and Braves starting pitcher Kris Medlen in the fifth inning gave Atlanta all the runs it needed. Hanley Ramirez cut the lead to one in the eighth and L.A. got a runner to second with an out in the ninth, but Craig Kimbrel shut down the rally. In other news, Yasiel Puig is as exciting in the field as he is at the plate:

Brewers 4, Phillies 3: Jean Segura hit his ninth home run of the season for the Brewers, while Ryan Braun went 3-4 at the plate. Francisco Rodriguez tossed a perfect ninth to pick up his fourth save of the season. For Philadelphia, Domonic Brown hit his NL-leading 19th home run.

Royals 7, Astros 2: Eric Hosmer went 2-2 at the plate, drawing two walks while driving in one run. Ervin Santana only surrendered two runs and five hits over seven innings against the Astros, lowering his ERA to 2.99 on the year.

Padres 4, Rockies 2: The Padres made three throwing errors, left 12 runners on base, and still managed to beat the Rockies. Kyle Blanks hit a two-run homer of Jeff Francis, his sixth of the season.

Giants 10, Diamondbacks 5: San Francisco chased Trevor Cahill with eight runs in less than four innings, and the D-backs never recovered. Hunter Pence and Buster Posey homered.
