The Texas Rangers placed starting pitcher Alexi Ogando on the disabled list with shoulder inflammation, Danny Knobler of CBS Sports reports.

The team made the move retroactive to June 6. This is the second time Ogando has landed on the disabled list, as the right-handed pitcher did not pitch from May 16 to June 4 with biceps tendinitis.

Ogando is in his fourth season with the Rangers. Texas used the pitcher out of the bullpen in 2010 and 2012, but he started 29 games for the Rangers in 2011. Ogando pitched successfully in both roles, as he owns a career 3.09 ERA over 332 innings pitched.

The 29-year-old pitched well to start 2013, going 4-2 with a 2.93 ERA in 10 starts. Still, he saw his strikeouts decline and his walks increase, which suggests his injury issues may have been affecting him.

The Rangers recalled Josh Lindblom from Triple-A Round Rock to replace Ogando on the roster. Lindblom made nine starts in Triple-A, going 6-0 with a 2.04 ERA.
