NL All-Star voting: Pablo Sandoval, David Wright in third base battle

Bustor Posey leads all N.L. vote getters, joining Pablo Sandoval as Giants on pace to start the All-Star Game.

The San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds will be well-represented at the MLB All-Star Game if the current balloting numbers hold steady. The latest update shows Joey Votto and Brandon Phillips leading N.L. voting at first and second base, while Buster Posey and Pablo Sandoval lead at catcher and third base respectively.

Posey leads all N.L. players with 1,961,861 votes, giving him a chance to break the All-Star balloting record he set last year with 7,621,370 votes. But as many votes as Posey is racking up, he's in a tight race to start because Yadier Molina has 1,684,700 votes, third in the N.L. Troy Tulowitzki is in second place with 1,691,262 votes, nearly 700,000 votes ahead of Brandon Crawford to start at shortstop.

Seven of the eight current N.L. starters are unchanged from the first update, with only Carlos Beltran moving into the top vote getters. He overtook Ryan Braun for the last starting spot in the N.L. outfield.

The closest race for a starting spot is at third base, where Sandoval leads David Wright by 200,776 votes.
