The Los Angeles Angels will place Peter Bourjos on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured right wrist, reported by Chris Abshire of MLB.com.

Houston Astros starting pitcher Jordan Lyles hit Bourjos in the wrist on Saturday in the Angels 7-2 victory. The outfielder stayed in the game to run, but Mike Scioscia removed him for J.B. Shuck in the next half inning.

The right-handed hitters is expected to spend 2-3 weeks recovering from the injury. Scioscia remained optimistic about the injury, telling Abshire:
“There’ll be a DL time, and we’ll see what the timeframe is. Early indications are that it might be a shorter stint than we’d imagine because of where the fracture is. We’re following the lead of our medical staff every step of the way.”
Bourjos has battled a number of injuries throughout the season. The outfielder missed over a month with a left hamstring strain, and bruised his thumb last week sliding into second base.
The outfielder has produced offensively when healthy, hitting .328/.383/.453 in 145 plate appearances with four stolen bases this season.
The Angels plan to place Bourjos on the disabled list before Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals, but the team has not announced a replacement for the outfielder on the 25-man roster. Shuck will likely see time in left field while Bourjos is out, while Mike Trout will shift to center.
