It didn't take long for Bryce Harper to make an impact in his return from a knee injury, as the Nationals' outfielder homered on his first swing since coming off the disabled list. Harper took a 1-0 pitch from Yovani Gallardo over the left field wall for his 13th home run of the season.

The 20-year-old Harper was activated from the disabled list on Monday after missing more than a month due to a left knee injury. Harper suffered the injury on May 13 when he collided with the outfield wall while tracking a fly ball. He showed no ill effects of the injury during a minor league rehab assignment -- going 4-for-11 with a home run -- and continued that success in his return on Monday.
The Nationals rank near the bottom of MLB in a number of offensive categories. Harper’s return should help that and an opposite field home run on your first swing against major league pitching in more than a month isn’t a bad way to start.
