Nothing is set in stone quite yet, but the Colorado Rockies could get a huge boost to their lineup on Thursday when they begin their series against the division rival Dodgers. Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and center fielder Dexter Fowler are scheduled to rejoin the team and be re-evaluated in Los Angeles Thursday, and will be activated that day if deemed healthy, reports Troy Renck of the Denver Post.

Colorado is hoping the dynamic duo can help the club out of its recent funk. The Rockies are just 8-16 since Tulo hit the DL last month.

Tulowitzki, 28, has been sidelined since June 13 with a broken rib in his right side, while Fowler, 27, has been out since June 26 with a right wrist strain. Tulo went 3-for-3 with a walk in his second rehab game with Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday night, and now has four hits in five at-bats during his rehab stint. Fowler has also been rehabbing at Triple-A, but he is hitless in six at-bats so far.

Tulowitzki was leading the team in almost every offensive category when he went down last month, leading the Rockies to two games above .500, good enough for third in the NL West and just 2½ games back of the division-leading Diamondbacks. Now, however, Colorado sits five games under .500, putting them 4½ back of Arizona (who has also struggled).
Left fielder Carlos Gonzalez has also been sidelined for the last couple days with a sprained finger, so the Rockies' offense has been pretty much powerless outside of Michael Cuddyer. The club has scored just seven runs in its last five games; the return of Tulo and Fowler probably cannot come at a better time for them.
Tulowitzki is batting .347/.413/.635 with 16 home runs in 61 games on the year, which are stellar numbers even by the All-Star shortstop’s lofty standards. Fowler is also in the midst of a career year at the plate, batting .291/.390/.473 with 10 long balls through 70 games.
