Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig is in second place in the race for the National League's final roster spot in this summer's All-Star game. You shouldn't be surprised to learn that, like with everything else in his life, second place isn't good enough for fellow Los Angeles athlete, Kobe Bryant. The Lakers' star took time to endorse Puig on Twitter for the July 16th mid-summer classic:
MLB All-Star Game 2013: Kobe Bryant wants Yasiel Puig to win the Final Vote
Bryant respects the Puig, and wants to see him on the national stage next week.

I don’t know if Bryant is offering Puig Mamba DNA or suggesting that Puig already has that secret Kobe sauce, but either way, I’m kind of in love with everything that is happening there.
Puig was understandably gracious, even offering Kobe a chance to get to the park over the summer, or to throw out the first pitch against the Yankees:
Gracias @kobebryant! Puedes venir a un juego? How about you throw the first pitch for one of the vs. NYY games? Espero conocerte pronto.

Now Puig just needs to reach across the aisle and get a Doc Rivers or Blake Griffin endorsement, or have Dwight Howard complain about him, and he’ll be an unstoppable Los Angeles force.
