St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday described himself as "day-to-day" with a hamstring injury, according to Derrick Goold of of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Matt Holliday injury: Cardinals outfielder ‘day-to-day’ with hamstring injury
Holliday hopes to use the All-Star break to heal and avoid spending time on the disabled list.

Holliday exited Thursday night's game against the Chicago Cubs in the fourth inning with tightness in his right hamstring. The outfielder grimaced while attempting to outrun a groundball. Holliday moved slowly as he headed towards the dugout, but made it back to the clubhouse without assistance.
Holliday spent the remaining innings icing his leg and receiving treatment. He discussed the injury with reporters after the game, stating:
“Just grabbed me a little bit. I’ll have a better feel for what it looks like (today). Hopefully be able to use the (All-Star) break and be all right.”
The outfielder has seen his numbers slip a bit this season, but continues to produce in the middle of the Cardinals lineup, hitting .268/.351/.448 with 13 homers and 47 RBI.
Allen Craig shifted to left field in Holliday's absence, with Matt Adams moving to first base. If Holliday is forced to miss an extended period of time, St. Louis will likely use that defensive arrangement full-time. Both Craig and Adams have swung the bat well this season; Craig is hitting .329/.374/.494 as the starting first baseman, while Adams is hitting .317/.364/.567 in a reserve role.
