B.J. Upton injury: Braves OF strains right adductor muscle, leaves game
B.J. Upton’s rough season got worse on Friday night when the Braves outfielder suffered an injury in the top of the first inning and had to leave the game.

Upton was injured while making a diving attempt on Todd Frazier's run-scoring triple in the top of the first inning. Cincinnati took a 3-0 lead on the play. Upton was replaced in the lineup by Joey Terdoslavich and in the field by Reed Johnson, who slid over from right field.
Upton, 28, signed a five-year, $75.25 million deal with the Braves prior to the season. He has struggled in his first year in Atlanta, hitting .177/.266/.300 in 318 plate appearances prior to Friday.
Despite Upton's struggles, the Braves are currently in first place in the National League East with a 53-39 record, six games better than the Washington Nationals entering Friday.
