Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Ben Revere suffered a broken foot in the first game of a day-night doubleheader on Saturday against the Chicago White Sox, the Phillies announced after the game.

Revere suffered the injury fouling a ball off his foot before grounding into a game-ending double play.

Revere hit a foul ball off his foot in the 11th inning, and fell to the ground in pain. The left-handed hitter stayed in the game, but grounded into a game-ending double play later in the at-bat.

The outfielder underwent X-rays after the game, which revealed the break. A specialist will evaluate Revere on Monday.
Philadelphia acquired the speedy outfielder from the Minnesota Twins during the offseason for starting pitchers Vance Worley and Trevor May. Revere struggled to start the season, as he hit .200 during the first month of the year, but has since raised his average to .305. Revere has swiped 22 bases this season, the fourth-most stolen bases in the NL.
John Mayberry started in centerfield during the second game of the doubleheader, and Michael Young replaced Revere in the leadoff spot.
