2013 MLB All-Star Game: Best hitters in baseball finally start hitting

White Sox pitcher Chris Sale then threw a second scoreless inning for the American League, retiring the lineup in order. The National League finally recorded its first hit during the fourth inning, when Carlos Beltran poked one through the left side, ending the American League's bid for the first All-Star Game no-hitter ever.

Beltran's hit to break-up the early no-hit bid came against Mariners starter Felix Hernandez. The National League pinch ran for Beltran with Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen, who would make it to third base with two outs for hometown All-Star David Wright. Wright grounded out to Miguel Cabrera, however, to end the threat.
