New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez gave a rare interview to CNN this week, in which he shed a bit of light on his current status in the Biogenesis debacle, among other things. The injured, embattled star said that he does not believe any sort of plea deal is on the table at the moment, and added that he's happy to just "let the process play out," per CNN:

“I hate all the noise but, you know, hopefully that goes away soon and we can get back to playing baseball,” Rodriguez added.
No One Really Loves Bugs Bunny

A-Rod, 37, is just a few days away from returning to Yankees’ active roster -- he’s set to be activated on Monday -- so the timing of his interview is likely no accident. He’s been relatively quiet during his seven months of rehab from hip surgery, but as he seems to be a bad PR magnet, he’s still had to endure several media cycles of bad press.
Most of the bad press has stemmed from the ongoing Biogenesis investigation, which could potentially lead to Rodriguez receiving a lifetime ban from baseball even though he’s never been suspended for performance-enhancing drugs. The league plans on punishing players tied to the scandal under the “just cause” clause of the Joint Drug Agreement, meaning they are capable of handing out suspensions of any length they see fit.
