The Detroit Tigers plan to trade for San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Tim Lincecum and move him to the bullpen is "far-fetched," an NL executive told Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
MLB Trade Rumors - Tim Lincecum to Detroit Tigers bullpen ‘far-fetched’
Lincecum is not likely to accept a move to the bullpen mid-season.

Heyman cites precedent as the main reason why Lincecum won’t change teams and roles this season. Although a few well-known starters were converted into closers, those changes came before the season began, not during the middle of the year.
Heyman also points out that Lincecum will be a free agent at the end of the season, and will likely want to hit the market as a starter, not a reliever. The Giants have yet to indicate if they plan on selling before the trade deadline, so Lincecum could stay in San Francisco.
Lincecum has pitched inconsistently this season, going 5-9 with a 4.26 ERA over 19 starts. The right-hander, however, flashed some of his previous dominance in his most recent start, throwing a 13-strikeout no-hitter against the San Diego Padres.
