Los Angeles Angels outfielder Peter Bourjos will not return to the team until August after originally hoping to return before the end of July, reports Mike DiGovanna of the Los Angeles Times.
Peter Bourjos injury: Angels OF will not return until August
A broken bone in Bourjos’ wrist has yet to fully heal, which will delay the outfielder’s return.

Bourjos broke a bone in his right wrist after being hit by a pitch on June 29. X-rays taken during the week show that the outfielder’s wrist has not fully healed, which will delay his setback.
Bourjos discussed his injury with DiGovanna, telling the reporter:
“It’s better than it was, but it’s still sore. The doctor looked at the X-rays and didn’t see a whole lot of healing. He said to hold off on hitting.”
The outfielder will be reexamined on Friday. If Bourjos is cleared to swing a bat next week, he could return to the Angels by early August.
Bourjos has played well when healthy, hitting .333/.392/.457 in 147 plate appearances. The outfielder also missed six weeks in May and June with a left hamstring strain.
