Homer Bailey has a no-hitter against the Giants through 7 innings

Homer Bailey was the last pitcher in baseball to throw a no-hitter. He has another one going on Tuesday against the Giants.

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Homer Bailey has no-hit the San Francisco Giants through seven innings on Tuesday at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Bailey struck out seven batters through six perfect innings and was forced to sit for an extended period of time in the bottom half of that frame as the Reds scored a pair of runs and sent seven hitters to the plate. Gregor Blanco, the first hitter for the Giants in the top of the seventh, drew a six-pitch walk to become the team's first baserunner of the evening.

The Giants remained hitless, though, as Marco Scutaro grounded out, Buster Posey reached on a fielder's choice and Pablo Sandoval struck out swinging.

Bailey was the last Reds pitcher -- and most recent major league baseball hurler -- to throw a no-hitter, accomplishing the feat on Sept. 28, 2012, in a 1-0 victory over the PIttsburgh Pirates. Tom Browning remains the only Red to twirl a perfect game, doing so on Sep. 16, 1988 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
