The former Rangers star could fill the team’s need for a right-handed hitter.

Texas is currently looking at a number of right-handed hitting outfielders, but have also discussed a potential Young return to fill their need for a right-handed bat. Even with a full infield, Texas should have some available at-bats for Young; Nelson Cruz's future status is unclear thanks to the Biogenesis scandal and an injury may force Lance Berkman to retire.

Young spent the first 13 seasons of his career with the Rangers before the team traded the infielder to the Phillies during the offseason. The veteran has hit .278/.342/.405 this year while mostly playing third base.
The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees have also shown interest in trading for Young. The Phillies have not committed to selling, but Young is a free agent at the end of the season and Philadelphia has depth at third base.
