Omar Infante injury: Tigers 2B injures shin, leaves game
Tigers second baseman Omar Infante exited the team’s game against the Blue Jays after a collision at second base.

Original: During the fourth inning of the Detroit Tigers' game against the Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit second baseman Omar Infante was injured in a collision with Colby Rasmus as he was attempting to turn a double play.
Bless You Boys: Hard slide forces Tigers 2B from game
After a striking out Adam Lind to start the fourth inning, Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer hit Rasmus with a fastball on the second pitch of the at-bat to put him on base. The next batter, Rajai Davis, hit a ground ball to Jhonny Peralta and the Tigers shortstop threw to Infante for the double play. Rasmus slid hard at Infante's legs to break up the play, and the pair collided.
Infante was in visible pain following the play. The Tigers training staff attended to him, and he was able to place some weight on his injury leg as he left the game. He was replaced by Ramon Santiago at second.
The hard slide has already received some criticism from Tigers fans via Twitter. Given that this play came shortly after Rasmus was hit, it’s very likely to come under closer scrutiny following the game.
