Omar Infante injury: Tigers 2B off crutches, but likely out ‘a couple of days’
Omar Infante is walking around without crutches, but he’s still in a lot of pain and is likely to miss a couple of days after a hard slide from Colby Rasmus.

Infante left Wednesday's game after a hard slide from Blue Jays center fielder Colby Rasmus. X-rays came back negative, but the team stated he has a bruise on his shin. He was walking around with a noticeable limp. Manager Jim Leyland confirmed that there was no structural damage in his knee.
Several Tigers players and fans were unhappy with Rasmus' slide, including Infante himself.
“I don’t think he needed to slide like that. I think that’s dirty,” Infante said, per Jason Beck of MLB.com, “That’s a dirty play. I know you come in to break up a double play, but not like that.”
Infante is hitting .309/.340/.447 on the year with six home runs in 309 plate appearances. Ramon Santiago will take his place at second base for the time being.
