Tigers to activate Matt Tuiasosopo, option Avisail Garcia to Triple-A
The guy who has been perhaps the biggest offensive surprise of the season for the Tigers will return to the team on Friday.

Tuiasosopo was a pleasant surprise for the Tigers before landing on the disabled list with a rib injury on June 20. The 27-year-old utility player is hitting .338/.466/.563 while spending time in left field and at first base.
Garcia, 22, was hitting .241/.273/.373 in 88 big-league plate appearances entering Thursday. His minor league numbers in 2013 have been much better; Garcia boasts a .438/.481/.603 line in 78 plate appearances split between Lakeland and Toledo.
The Tigers went 7-7 in Tuiasosopo's absence. During that stretch, Garcia appeared in five games and went 1-for-15 at the plate. Tuiasosopo's primary replacement, Andy Dirks, hit .265/.342/.382 in 11 games during that same timeframe.
