Philadelphia Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said that if the Phillies do not turn around things soon, Amaro may consider the Phillies as sellers, per CSN Philly.

The general manager may start trading some players if the team does not turn things around soon.

Philadelphia has an important ten-game stretch coming up, as they host the Atlanta Braves and the Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park. If the team does not play better during that stretch, Amaro may start selling some players.
The general manager discussed the situation on Wednesday with 94 WIP:
"If we continue to play the way we play sporadically, then I'm going to have to consider being a seller. If we think that we're going to be playing a little bit better baseball, [a] better brand of baseball, and this is going to be a very important next eight or 10 games for us because we're playing our toughest opponents in the division, we're playing the Pirates who are an outstanding club. So this will be a very good gauge for us as to where we're going to be and where we are come the All-Star break and as we get closer and closer to July 31."
The Phillies enter Friday with a 41-45 record, trailing the Braves by 8 1/2 games in the NL East.
Amaro has some valuable trade assets if he chooses to sell. Chase Utley could help a number of teams looking for an improvement at second base, while Cliff Lee could bring back a strong return in a shallow pitching market.
