2013 MLB All-Star Game: National League roster led by Yadier Molina

St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina leads the NL All-Star team, and the host Mets will have David Wright and Matt Harvey on the roster.

USA TODAY Sports

The National League All-Star squad was unveiled during the selection show on Saturday, and St. Louis' Yadier Molina, who led all NL vote-getters, will start at catcher. Fellow backstop and 2012 NL MVP Buster Posey was selected as a reserve.

Molina received nearly 7 million votes and will make his fifth consecutive All-Star Game appearance. Molina entered Sunday leading the NL with a .346 batting average and 26 doubles.

Posey has higher on-base and slugging percentages than Molina and leads the NL with a 161 OPS+, but the fans spoke for Molina.

David Wright was voted in as a starter at third base. He, along with pitcher Matt Harvey, will represent the New York Mets at their home ballpark, Citi Field, in the midsummer classic on July 16.

Fans will be able to cast their votes through Thursday for one of Ian Desmond, Freddie Freeman, Adrian Gonzalez, Hunter Pence, or Yasiel Puig, each of whom were picked as the NL's Final Vote candidates.
