Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton leads BA’s midseason Top 50
Buxton is one of two Twins prospects ranked in the Top-5 by Baseball America.

Buxton spent most of the season in Low-A Cedar Rapids. The outfielder had a dominant season in the Midwest League, hitting .341/.431/.559 in 323 plate appearances. The Twins recently promoted Buxton to High-A Fort Myers, and the 19-year-old has looked unfazed by the promotion, hitting .364/.378/.477 in his first 45 plate appearances.
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Oscar Taveras slotted in at No. 2, while BA ranked fellow Twins' prospect Miguel Sano as the No. 3 overall prospect in baseball. Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts came in at No. 4, the first of four Red Sox to appear on the list, while Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor rounded out the top five.
Baltimore Orioles pitching prospect Dylan Bundy tumbled from the No. 2 spot in the pre-season rankings to the No. 17 position in the mid-season rankings. Bundy underwent Tommy John surgery to repair a partial tear in his elbow.
