A fan died after falling from Turner Field’s upper deck during Monday night’s game between the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

A man died after falling 30 feet in the stands during the Braves and Phillies game on Monday night.


According to Atlanta’s NBC affiliate, the man fell approximately 30 feet at around 8:30 p.m. and was eventually taken to a hospital where he was labeled in critical condition. He passed away a short time after.
The Braves issued a quick statement, acknowledging the accident and referring media inquiries to the Atlanta Police Department.
There was an accident earlier tonight at Turner Field with a spectator falling from the upper level. The spectator has been transported to the hospital. The Atlanta Police Department are investigating and we refer all media inquiries to them at this time.
The start of the Phillies and Braves game was delayed due to rain.
A similar situation occurred in 2008 when a 25-year-old man died after suffering fatal head injuries when he fell 150 feet during a Braves’ game against the Mets.
