Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Roy Halladay will begin a rehab assignment on Thursday with the rookie-level Gulf Coast League Phillies, according to Philly.com's Matt Gelb (via The Good Phight).
Phillies’ Roy Halladay to begin rehab assignment
Roy Halladay is progressing well and could return to the Phillies in less than two weeks.

Halladay will throw approximately 75 to 80 pitches, and could require only two rehab appearances before rejoining the big club, per Gelb. That would put the 36-year-old right-hander on track to start on Aug. 25 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Halladay went 2-4 with an 8.65 ERA/44 ERA+ in seven starts before landing on the disabled list and eventually undergoing shoulder surgery. The two-time Cy Young Award winner had seven consecutive seasons of two or fewer walks per nine innings -- and 11 straight years with an ERA+ of better than 100 -- before his struggles began during the 2012 campaign, in which he posted a 4.49 ERA and failed to make at least 30 starts for the first time since 2005.
