Jared Remy, son of Red Sox broadcaster, facing murder charge
Remy allegedly stabbed his girlfriend hours after being released from custody in an assault case against her.

Remy was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in the death of Jennifer Martel, 27, at a Waltham apartment complex Thursday night. He appeared in the same courthouse Wednesday to face allegations that he assaulted Martel.
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan told the Associated Press that Remy was released Wednesday on personal recognizance in an open assault and battery case. The recommendation was based in part on a conversation with Martel, and there was no active restraining order against Remy.
Martel’s daughter was home during the alleged act of domestic violence. Officials said that the daughter was unhurt, and is now in the custody of state child welfare officials.
The younger Remy is a former Red Sox security staffer who was fired from the team in 2008 during a steroid investigation.
