Atlanta Braves' second baseman Dan Uggla, just one day removed from LASIK eye surgery on Friday, said that he has already tested at 20/15 vision during a follow-up visit Saturday, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Uggla’s vision is rapidly improving after surgery and he is hopeful he can return to the team not long after first being eligible.

Uggla underwent the procedure after long struggles through the 2013 season and an astigmatism in his eye putting his vision around 20/30 or 20/35. Uggla’s current visual acuity of 20/15 means that he can see as well from 20 feet as a person with normal 20/20 vision would from 15 feet.
Though Uggla wanted to hit off a tee Saturday afternoon, the Braves did not allow him to in fear that he may get dust particles or dirt in his eyes. Instead, Uggla will begin hitting again when Atlanta travels to play the Mets on Tuesday.
Uggla, who says his vision is still blurry at times, is hopeful he can return from the disabled list not long after being first eligible on Aug. 28. He will take a brief minor league rehab appearance before his return to test out his vision in a game situation.
Uggla has hit just .186 this season with a .309 OBP. Though he has hit 21 home runs, a lack of other extra base hits have kept him at just a .389 slugging percentage.
