The Los Angeles Dodgers still are not certain when they will call up reliever Brian Wilson. They do know it will not be Sunday, however, though a call-up could come in the next day or two, reports Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register.

Wilson has been working in the minors, and threw a simulated game on Friday. He will likely be called up soon.

Los Angeles had Wilson throw a simulated game on Friday, but Manager Don Mattingly says the team is not in a rush to get him in the majors.
“You want him to be fresh. You don’t want him to be sorta fresh. You want him to be totally fresh. Doug E. Fresh,” Mattingly was quoted as saying.
Wilson, 31, has not pitched since April of 2012 after undergoing Tommy John surgery for the second time in his career. Wilson agreed to a contract with the Dodgers on July 30 of this season and has been throwing and pitching in the minors in an effort to return to the big leagues.
The Dodgers had previously said Wilson had taken just about every step needed to return. A call up to the major leagues should come soon. When he does join the Los Angeles bullpen, Wilson will slot in as a set-up man behind closer Kenley Jansen.
