Pagan is expected to start playing rehab games for Triple-A Fresno “in the next few days.”

Pagan has played in two rehab games with the Arizona League Giants. The outfielder played eight innings between the two games, going 0-for-3 with a pair of walks. Giants manager Bruce Bochy told Morgan that the first two games were a success, and that Pagan may join Triple-A Fresno “in a few days.”

Pagan has been out since May 25 with a left hamstring injury. He attempted to rehab and return earlier in the summer, but aggravated his hamstring in a rehab game June 20. Pagan then underwent surgery to repair a tendon, and has been sidelined since.
Bochy wants Pagan to play this season despite the fact that the Giants enter Monday in last place and 17 games back of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West, saying he wants the outfielder to feel "confident" heading into the offseason.
Pagan is in the first year of four-year, $40 million contract. He served as the team’s primary center fielder and leadoff man when healthy, hitting .262/.314/.374 with three home runs and six stolen bases.
