ESPN broadcaster John Kruk left the press box at Dodger Stadium on a stretcher Sunday after being diagnosed with dehydration, ESPN announced.

Company spokesman Josh Krulewitz discussed the broadcaster’s health with reporters, stating:

“John left the booth feeling dizzy and was diagnosed as being dehydrated. His vital signs are stable and he’s in good spirits. We wish him a speedy recovery.”

The member of the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball telecast had been set to call the game between the Red Sox and Dodgers. Kruk left the press box on a stretcher, but was responsive and drinking "tons of water."

Kruk spent 10 years in the majors, playing the Padres, Phillies and White Sox. He hit .300 for his career with 100 homers and 192 RBI. Kruk is currently in his 10th season with ESPN, and his first as part of a three-man booth for ESPN's signature weekly Major League Baseball broadcast.
