Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Matt Moore will rejoin the team on Sept. 3 against the Los Angeles Angels, reports Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune.
Matt Moore to rejoin Rays on Sept. 3
Moore has out since July 28 with a sore left elbow.

Moore has been sidelined since July 28 with a sore left elbow. The Rays have been cautious with Moore, who felt some discomfort earlier in the month after throwing a bullpen session. He is scheduled to throw another bullpen session Monday, then will make a rehab start Thursday.
The southpaw threw a simulated game Saturday, and said he felt normal soreness the next day. Moore told Mooney that he is willing to accept whatever course of action the Rays take, stating ”“Whatever gets me back in the rotation. That’s the ultimate goal.”
Moore has had an excellent sophomore campaign, going 14-3 with a 3.41 ERA.
Tampa Bay enters Monday with a 74-54 record, one game behind the Boston Red Sox in the AL East. The Rays are tied with the Athletics for first place in the AL Wild Card, but the Indians, Orioles and Yankees are all within 3 1/2 games of the leaders.
