The Oakland Athletics officially placed right fielder Josh Reddick on the disabled list Monday night with a sprained right wrist, reports ESPN.com. Pitcher Evan Scribner was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento to take the open roster spot.
Josh Reddick injury: A’s RF put on DL with sprained wrist
Reddick has been dealing with a wrist injury all year, but aggravated it while hitting Sunday.

Reddick left Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles in the sixth inning after aggravating his wrist injury during an at-bat. He has been hampered since the early weeks of the season by the injury and underwent an MRI and x-ray last week after hurting the wrist again while playing defense.
Oakland is still hopeful that Reddick will only need rehabilitation to heal his wrist and are not discussing surgery at the moment. However, that option has not been ruled out for the future. Reddick missed most of May on a DL stint when he originally hurt the wrist.
The Athletics have seen Reddick go through his share of struggles this season. After launching 32 home runs in 2012, he has hit just .213 with a .658 OPS and 10 homers over 97 games in 2013.
Scribner made 13 relief appearances for the A’s earlier in the season, posting a 5.03 ERA. He has a 2.32 ERA for Sacramento in 2013.
