The Detroit Tigers will promote top prospect Nick Castellanos and he will join the team Sunday, reports John Wagner of the Toronto Blade.
Nick Castellanos promoted by Tigers
Castellanos is the top prospect in the Tigers’ farm system.

Castellanos spent most of the season with Triple-A Toledo, hitting .276/.343/.446 with 17 homers and 74 RBI over 591 plate appearances. The outfielder is not on the 40-man roster, but can be added without a corresponding move.
John Sickels of Minor League Ball rated Castellanos as the top prospect in the Tigers’ farm system and the 13th-best prospect in baseball, writing the following scouting report:
Has cooled off after a hot start... Showing more home run power and patience this year, though at the expense of batting average.
Castellanos will be eligible for the post-season roster if the Tigers place him on the 25-man roster by midnight Saturday. If Castellanos is not promoted on Saturday, he can still earn post-season eligibility if he replaces an injured player on the playoff roster.
Right-handed pitcher Evan Reed and infielder Danny Worth will also join Castellanos in Detroit.
