The Cleveland Indians will recall pitcher Danny Salazar to start Wednesday's game against the Detroit Tigers, reports the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Indians plan to recall Danny Salazar for Wednesday’s game
Salazar was impressive in a spot start earlier in the year. He’ll get another chance to shine Wednesday.

Salazar shined in his major league debut when he made a spot start for the Indians earlier in 2013. Against the Blue Jays on July 11, he pitched six innings of two-hit ball, allowing one run while striking out seven batters.
The 23-year-old Dominican has been excellent in the minors the past three seasons. Salazar reached Triple-A Columbus for the first time in 2013 and had a 2.73 ERA 0.978 WHIP over 14 appearances. He also averaged 11.8 strikeouts per nine innings and 2.8 walks per nine innings with Columbus.
The Indians had a spot for Salazar after pushing Ubaldo Jimenez’s next start back two days to Friday. Jimenez has been struggling and Cleveland hopes a couple more days of rest will help.
Salazar took to Twitter to thank his followers, saying that he first heard about the call-up from congratulations he received on the social media network before receiving a call from his manager.
