Biogenesis: MLB to suspend Jordany Valdespin, Antonio Bastardo and Sergio Escalona
Three new names have been added to the list of players receiving 50-game bans from MLB.

The three new players join nine previously-named players in accepting 50-game suspensions from MLB. The other nine players include Nelson Cruz, Jhonny Peralta, Everth Cabrera, Jesus Montero, Francisco Cervelli, Fernando Martinez, Jordan Norberto, Fautino De Los Santos and Cesar Puello. All 12 players are expected to begin serving their suspensions immediately.
Alex Rodriguez will also receive a suspension, but his will reportedly be a 214-game ban. Rodriguez is the only player expected to file an appeal, and is scheduled to play for the Yankees Monday night against the Chicago White Sox.
Valdespin recently served a three-game suspension for his role in a benches clearing brawl in Triple-A. Bastardo has pitched well out of the Phillies bullpen this season, posting a 2.32 ERA in 48 appearances, while Escalona is currently pitching in Double-A.
