Chicago Cubs catcher Dioner Navarro left Wednesday night's game against the Phillies after a collision at the plate with Philadelphia second baseman Chase Utley.
Dioner Navarro injury: Cubs C hurt in home plate collision with Chase Utley
Navarro took a big hit from Utley and was carted off the field, but reportedly escaped with just a contusion.

Utley was coming home on a Kevin Frandsen single to left field when outfielder Cole Gillespie's throw beat him to the plate. Navarro took a hard hit as Utley attempted to knock the ball away, but managed to hold on to the ball to secure the out. Here are two .gifs of the play, one from the outfield camera:

Navarro was carted off the field following the play. Welington Castillo came in to replace him as the Cubs' backstop. Navarro had X-rays in the training room; those tests came back negative and Navarro was ruled to have escaped with a contusion.
Navarro’s play kept the Cubs in the game. By keeping Utley from scoring, Navarro helped preserve a 2-2 tie.
