Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Thursday and blasted MLB, criticizing the 211-game suspension handed to New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez.

Cuban had harsh words for MLB commissioner Bud Selig about his handling of the Rodriguez suspension and his business practices.

Leno asked the billionaire for his thoughts on the suspension, and Cuban did not mince his words, stating:
“Horrible. No, I think it’s disgraceful what Major League Baseball is trying to do to him. Not that he doesn’t deserve to be suspended, he does. But they have policies in place. First time offenders... 50 games, second time 100. 214 games? That’s personal...”
Cuban also directed his ire towards Bud Selig, accusing the commissioner of questionable business practices:
"It's basically become Bud Selig's mafia. He runs it the way he wants to run it... When I was trying to buy the Rangers, it was an open auction. And I sat in there with my good hard-earned money trying to bid and they did everything possible to keep me from buying the team. They had lawyers in their trying to change the rules, they had people trying to put up more money... it was horrible!"
Cuban attempted to bid for the Rangers in 2010 in a bankruptcy auction, but pulled out after his bid of $600 million was passed over for a bid of $593 million from a group led by Nolan Ryan. Cuban also attempted to buy the Chicago Cubs for $1.3 billion in 2009, but was not selected to compete in the final bidding.
