Arizona Diamondbacks third base coach Matt Williams is a potential candidate to become the Washington Nationals manager in 2014, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
Matt Williams a potential candidate for Nationals manger in ‘14
Williams is one of four rumored candidates to replace Davey Johnson in 2014.

Current Nationals manager Davey Johnson announced before the season that he would retire at the end of the year and return in an advisory position. Johnson is expected to help make the decision on who is hired to replace him.
Williams managed the Salt River Rafters in the Arizona Fall League, and was a finalist for the Colorado Rockies manager job last winter; the team ended up hiring former Rockies player Walt Weiss. The former slugger played for the Diamondbacks from 1998-2003, and current Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo served as the Diamondbacks scouting director in the early 2000s.
Industry and team sources gave Amanda Comak of the Washington Times three other potential names to replace Johnson: Nationals bench coach Randy Knorr, Nationals third base coach Trent Jewett and Houston Astros manager Bo Porter.
