Roy Halladay injury: Phillies pitcher exits with arm trouble vs. Marlins

Roy Halladay left Monday’s game after facing only three batters.

Philadelphia right-hander Roy Halladay left Monday's start against Miami after only three batters due to arm fatigue, according to Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia.

Halladay threw 16 pitches before leaving, struggling to find the strike zone. He walked two of the three batters he faced. According to Salisbury, Halladay threw mostly off-speed pitches, never hitting more than 83 mph on the radar gun. Although he’s struggled this season, the 36-year-old Halladay has pitched better recently. He allowed one earned run or less in two of his last three starts, including his last outing on September 17.

Although he is scheduled to start again on Sept. 28 against Atlanta, Monday’s early exit could be Halladay’s last appearance in a Philadelphia uniform. He’s scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. According to Salisbury, Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro said he would like Halladay to return next season, although he declined to say if he would make the right-hander an offer.
