The San Francisco Giants have come to an agreement with outfielder Hunter Pence on a new five-year contract pending the passing of a physical, according to MLB.com's Chris Haft. CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman reports the deal will be worth $90 million and that the Giants are expected to officially announce the deal on Sunday.

After reports that the two sides were closing in on a deal, Pence will sign a contract that will keep him in San Francisco through 2018.

Re-signing Pence has long been the Giants' biggest priority in free agency. The team had been hoping to come to an agreement with him early in the process so they could then focus their attention on fellow soon-to-be free agents Tim Lincecum and Javier Lopez.
The two sides let the cat out of the bag that they were possibly nearing a deal following Friday’s game. Club president Larry Baer and Pence had a discussion in the middle of the clubhouse and Pence later told reporters they may be close to an agreement.
Pence will join catcher Buster Posey and pitchers Madison Bumgarner and Matt Cain as players signed to long-term deals in San Francisco.
Along with potentially re-signing Lincecum and Lopez, the Giants are also expected to look for an upgrade in left field this offseason. Starting pitching is another concern for San Francisco considering the team's 2013 starters have posted just a 4.31 ERA and Barry Zito could become a free agent if his option for 2014 is not picked up.
