The Texas Rangers and Tampa Bay Rays both finished the season 91-71, and will need to play a tiebreaker game on Monday to determine who will face the Cleveland Indians in the AL Wild Card Game.

The winner of Monday’s single-elimination game earns the right to play in Wednesday’s single-elimination game.


Martin Perez will start the game for the Rangers. Perez made 19 starts in his rookie season, going 10-5 with a 3.55 ERA. The southpaw does a good job limiting walks and forcing groundballs, but owns a below-average strikeout rate.
David Price will take the mound for the Rays. Price followed his 2012 AL Cy Young campaign with another strong season, going 9-8 with a 3.39 ERA. The lefty showed impressive command, striking out 147 batters over 177 2/3 innings while only issuing 26 walks.
Texas edged Tampa Bay 4-3 in the season series, earning the honor to host the game. The game will start at 8:07 p.m. ET, with coverage on TBS. TBS pre-game coverage of the event will start at 7:30 p.m. ET, with post-game coverage afterwards.
