The deal includes two options -- one club option and one mutual option that could bring the total to $6.5 million if both are exercised. Collmenter has served as a reliever and as a starter in his time with the Diamondbacks, though he didn’t start any games last year. He recorded an 3.13 ERA and 85 strikeouts against 33 walks in 92 innings of relief.

Cotts, Rangers agree to terms
The Texas Rangers announced they agreed to a one-year contract with left-handed reliever Neal Cotts, avoiding salary arbitration.
The deal will be worth $2.2 million, according to Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Before a dominant 2013, Cotts had last been in the majors in 2009, and was last effective in the majors in 2005. He recorded a 1.11 ERA with 65 strikeouts in 57 innings last year, and was effective against both left- and right-handed batters.

Figgins works out for teams
Chone Figgins worked out for about 10 teams in Tampa Bay on Wednesday, taking batting practice along with reps in the infield and outfield, per ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.
Figgins, who missed 2013 after being released by the Marlins in March, was good enough. He ran a 60-yard dash in 6.5 seconds, and is expected to land an invitation to spring training. Figgins' last season in the majors saw him compile a .181/.262/.271 slash line over 194 plate appearances with the Seattle Mariners. His last season with a positive OPS+ came in 2009, when he was still with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
