Mather had been with the Mariners since 1996. His previous duties included overseeing finances, ticket services, retail operations, technology, concessions and other aspects of the day-to-day workings of Safeco Field. Mather will report directly to Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Howard Lincoln.

Beimel, Rogers ink minor league pacts with Seattle
The Mariners also announced that they have reached agreements with relief pitchers Joe Beimel and Mark Rogers, signing them to minor league deals with invitations to spring training.
The left-handed Beimel spent 2013 in Triple-A with the Atlanta Braves, striking out 24 batters in 33 innings. He last pitched in the majors in 2011, recording a 5.33 ERA in 25 1/3 innings with Pittsburgh. His best season came in 2006 as a member of the Dodgers, when he finished with a 2.96 ERA over 70 innings, famously cutting his pitching hand on broken glass while out at a bar after curfew during the playoffs.
Rogers is a former first-round pick of the Milwaukee Brewers who spent the majority of 2013 on the 60-day disabled list, appearing in only 12 minor league games. He pitched in the majors in both 2010 and 2012 with Milwaukee, compiling a 3.49 ERA over the 11 games (9 starts). He has consistently battled shoulder injuries throughout his career.
San Francisco acquires Huff
The Giants announced Friday that they have traded for left-handed pitcher David Huff from the New York Yankees in exchange for cash considerations. Huff was designated for assignment when New York signed Masahiro Tanaka.
Huff split the 2013 season between Cleveland and New York, producing a 5.50 ERA in 37 2/3 innings, generating 31 strikeouts against nine walks. He should serve as a swingman/depth option for the Giants.

Cleveland signs Carlin to minor league deal
A minor league contract with an invitation to spring training between Luke Carlin and the Cleveland Indians was announced by the club on Friday.
The 33-year-old Carlin returns to the organization after previously spending the 2010-12 seasons with the major league team and Triple-A affiliate. He spent 2013 with the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, batting .230 with four home runs and 29 RBI in 77 games. He has appeared in 56 games over four different major league seasons, hitting .179/.263/.286 in that span.
