The Orioles are still looking to make some additions this winter and starting pitcher Bronson Arroyo could provide some solid veteran production. Of course, the question is all about the money.

The Orioles have some open innings in their rotation since Scott Feldman and Jason Hammel left to test the free agent waters. Arroyo seems like a logical fit. The veteran has been an exemplar of consistency over his career, as he has thrown 200 or more innings in eight of the last nine seasons (he threw just 199 in 2011). His ERA over that span is a solid 4.10, just a few ticks above the league average.

The Orioles saved over $10 million in shipping closer Jim Johnson to the Athletics, but they have yet to reallocate that money. Arroyo seems a reasonable fit in that price range, but the soon-to-be 37-year-old is rumored to want three guaranteed years.
The Twins and Reds, with whom he has played since 2006, have been the two teams most connected to Arroyo this offseason. The Twins have spent big to upgrade their rotation, inking Ricky Nolasco and Phil Hughes to multi-year deals. Their rotation was truly dreadful last season though, and they could still use another steady arm like Arroyo. The Reds' rotation has been one of the best in the National League the past few years with Arroyo as a veteran leader. Tony Cingrani is set to replace him, but he could still find his way back to the Queen City if the team decides to trade Homer Bailey in an attempt to find some offensive help.
