After no players were elected to the Hall of Fame in 2013, we are almost certain to see new inductees this year.

The 2014 MLB Hall of Fame class will be announced by the Baseball Writers Association of America at 2 pm ET on Wednesday, Jan. 8. MLB Network will begin airing coverage of the event at noon. Results will also be released at 2 on the Hall of Fame website and the BBWAA website.

The following 36 players are on the ballot this year:

Edgar Martinez Don Mattingly Fred McGriff Mark McGwire
Jack Morris Mike Mussina Hideo Nomo Rafael Palmeiro
Mike Piazza Tim Raines Kenny Rogers Curt Schilling

Those who receive less than 5% of voting will no longer remain on the ballot in following years.
