Orioles, Royals set Game 1 lineups

Chris Tillman will take the mound to open up the Orioles first ALCS since 1997, and he’ll be facing off against James Shields, the Royals ace who started both the Wild Card game and the clinching game of the ALDS. Yes, it’s been so long since the ALDS ended that the Royals got to double-dip on Shields in one week in consecutive games.

Shields will be facing an Orioles lineup that has Alejandro De Aza in left in order to keep Nelson Cruz’s bat at DH, where he’ll be of more use.

The Royals will counter with this out-of-focus photo that their official Twitter account might want to try a little harder with next time.

In case you can’t see that -- and that’s a legitimate possibility! -- Alcides Escobar is leading off, followed by Norichika Aoki, Lorenzo Cain, Eric Hosmer, Billy Butler, Alex Gordon, Salvador Perez, Omar Infante, and Mike Moustakas. Yes, Alex Gordon is still batting sixth for some reason, even if you squint.
