The St. Louis Cardinals couldn't score in the National League Championship Series opener. Sunday night against right-hander Jake Peavy and the San Francisco Giants at Busch Stadium, they'll try out a slightly remixed version of their batting order in an attempt to remedy that problem and avoid falling into a 2-0 hole. The bad news is, St. Louis hit even worse against right-handers in 2014 than it did against left-handers like Giants' Game 1 starter Madison Bumgarner.
Giants vs. Cardinals NLCS Game 2 starting lineups
St. Louis mixed things up after failing to get on the board in Game 1 against the Giants.

Peavy has been phenomenal since being traded to the Giants in July: He put up a 2.17 ERA in 12 starts with them to close the regular season, with his fielding independent pitching stat of 3.03 showing it wasn’t luck, either. Peavy threw 5⅔ shutout innings in the NLDS against the Nationals, allowing two hits while walking three and striking out three.
The Cardinals managed just four hits against the trio of Bumgarner, Sergio Romo and Santiago Casilla in a 3-0 Game 1 loss Saturday.
San Francisco, meanwhile, made no changes to its successful lineup. Pablo Sandoval and Travis Ishikawa combined to go 5-for-7 with an RBI and a run scored in that game.
The Giants will face right-hander Lance Lynn, who compiled a 2.74 ERA in 33 starts this season. St. Louis lost his NLDS start even though he struck out eight and walked two while allowing two runs. Lynn faced the Giants once during the regular season, allowing seven runs (four earned) on eight hits while failing to make it out of the fourth inning.
