Orioles vs. Royals, 2014 ALCS Game 3: Time, TV schedule, live stream and starting pitchers

After dropping the first two games in Baltimore, the Orioles look to Wei-Yen Chen to help them crawl back into the ALCS against Jeremy Guthrie and the Royals as the series travels to Kansas City.

Update: Game 3 pushed to Tuesday by rain

Down 2-0 in the ALCS, the Orioles will turn to Wei-Yin Chen for Sunday's Game 3 as the ALCS moves to Kansas City and Kauffman Stadium. Chen himself will hope to bounce back from a 3 2/3 innings implosion against the Tigers in the ALDS, while his offense will have to get through former Oriole Jeremy Guthrie first.

Facing the Orioles is something the Royals' pitcher is looking forward to, telling reporters, "To be in the playoffs with Kansas City is very exciting. And then to come back and play against a team that I played with before makes it even that much more interesting and ironic, I think."

It’s not the first time he’s pitched against them after leaving following five seasons in Baltimore. But that doesn’t make the game any less special or him any more sentimental towards his former teammates at this time of the year. As he explains, “Yeah, I think the emotion will come, obviously, from the playoff game. I think history will be put, not even on a back burner, but on some kind of like rotating kitchen, what do they call it, lazy Susan or something.”

While he'll be facing a weakened Orioles lineup, he'll still have to contend with Adam Jones, who had 29 home runs and led the team in batting average. But Jones has to concentrate on getting past the crushing defeats his team has been handed because of bullpen lapses in the first two games of the series. When asked how devastating losses like the ones the O's faced in Games 1 and 2 affected him and his teammates, the four-time All-Star said, "We're showing up, we're all the same mindset, the same attitudes we always have. And we've got to go out and play a big league game."

They’ll need that to maintain that mindset for their big league game on Sunday if they hope to come back from a 2-0 deficit. Viewers can see their attempt to do just that starting at 8:00 p.m. on TBS. They can also watch the game on MLB.TV and hear it on their local ESPN Radio affiliate.
