For those making a last-minute decision to purchase tickets to watch the Royals play either the Cardinals or Giants in the 2014 World Series, it could get pricey.

Per the folks at Seat Geek, even seats in the far reaches of the upper deck (far down the left field line) start at $746 each.

The previous high average price was Game 1 of the 2010 World Series at $888. Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports talked to a local ticket broker in Kansas City:

“There just aren’t a lot of tickets on the market,” said Jeff Goodman, the president of Kansas City-based Goody Tickets. “We already sold two-thirds of what we own. That’s pretty quick. Some people are late and may hope the prices go down. You might find some people lucky here and there. But the demand is high enough that you’re not going to see a big drop. Somebody asked me today if they’re going to come down to $300 or $400, and I said no way.”

Maybe the best bet to watch this World Series in Kansas City is the $5 cover at Paul Rudd’s mom’s house.
