Giants jump out to 3-0 lead in 1st inning

It could have been even worse for the Royals.

Pablo Sandoval knocked in a run with a double and Hunter Pence added a two-run home run to give the San Francisco Giants a 3-0 lead over the Kansas City Royals after a half inning in Game 1 of the World Series.

Sandoval laced an 0-1 offspeed pitch from Royals starter James Shields down the right field line to score Gregor Blanco, who led off the game with a single.

Buster Posey was thrown out at the plate trying to score from first, otherwise the Giants' lead would have been even larger after this happened:
